We recently installed our bespoke tier on tier plantation shutters in a period property in Waldegrave Road, Teddington. Our client wanted plantation shutters to replace their window covering in the front bay, but they also wanted be able to open the shutters to allow maximum light into the room. Tier on tier shutters can be divided into separate sections, which enables the top half of the shutter to be opened independently to the lower half. This provides privacy and keeps out unwanted attention, allowing maximum amount of natural light into the room. ShutterWise has a number of different styles of plantation shutters, we have a solution for every window. We also installed restored the boxes and installed new timber double glazed sashes in the front bay windows of this property and we serviced and draft-proofed a number of other timber sash windows in the house. ShutterWise has a sister company called Sashwise which specialises in the restoration and installation of new timber sash windows. Our client in Waldegrave Road, Teddington wanted plantation shutters in their lounge to provide some privacy from the street and to enable them to lose the heavy window coverings.
We installed our handcrafted café style plantation shutters to provide full cover to the windows, but following the style and design of the window to compliment the look and to allow a maximum amount of light into a beautiful space.
They were really happy with the result and surprised at the amount of light that still flooded the room.

Our client was in the process of completely renovating this stunning Victorian house in Richmond. We installed full height plantation shutters in the lounge and front bedroom. We made them out of a mix of hardwood and MDF, the colour was silk white which is a neutral soft white and they opted for the ‘slient’ no rod option. We used a meeting rail halfway across the shutter panels, to strengthen the frame and to keep the design of the shutters in liune with the design of the windows.

An efficient and friendly service from a local family firm. We are very pleased with the new plantation shutters on our large bay window in our living room which give us privacy from the road, yet still plenty of light. I would highly recommend ShutterWise.
